U16 girls - New Teign Vixens

Here is the match report from Paul Scott today -

This afternoon saw NewTeign Vixens (Teignmouth RFC, Newton Abbot Rugby Club and Brixham Girls Rugby U16 girls) take to the field at Bitton Park to play Devonport Services RFC. Games between these two teams are always highly competitive and physical, and today's game was no exception.
From the first whistle NTV ran hard and fast and were rewarded with a try within the first 5 minutes. The game continued at a high intensity with some amazing skills on show and some hard hitting tackles. Devonport were next to score through a great break. After that try the momentum was with NTV for the remainder of the first half and they ran in another two tries. The half time score was 17-5 to NTV.
The second half started with an early try for Devonport, taking the score to 17-10. This turned out to be the final score as the game was called early due to a potentially serious injury to one of the girls, which thankfully turned out not to be the case.
Forward of the Match went to Lucy Jenkin for her great running lines and covering in the backs when needed, Back of the Match went to Captain Ola Alford for her leadership and high level of skills shown and the Tackle of the Match award went to Grace Scott for her try saving tackles.
Devonport visit Bitton Park again on the 21st April for the girls last game of the season which will be an evening kick off under the flood lights. It promises to be another cracking game of rugby so make sure you're there to cheer the girls on.
