Teignmouth travelled to Honiton with a side depleted by the half-term holidays. With several regular players missing from the line-up, the team had to adapt with Connor Moore starting at hooker for the first time, and Jude Painter moving to flanker from his normal position on the wing.
The game began well for Teignmouth with Seth Boxall finding space to run in from distance and touch down under the posts. Honiton came back strongly, however, and their weightier pack began to take control of the breakdowns. Teignmouth defended bravely but eventually conceded a score after a well worked drive down the left.
The teams exchanged further tries to make it 12-12 at half time, Teigns' score coming from another clean break from Seth Boxall. Honiton had enjoyed the majority of the possession but had found their attacks disrupted by determined defence and splendid harrying from Teignmouth's back row, with Josh Poulter in particular working very hard.
Honiton began the second half by exploiting some weak tackling down Teignmouth's left flank, although the touchline conversion proved too difficult for the kicker. Fierce defence from both sides meant that the score remained at 17-12 until Lambert's last minute break gave kicker Jack Gibbon the opportunity to seal the win for his side.
