A wet start

Exeter Saracens had a couple of big strong boys who they used to do much of the ball carrying. Our defence was resilient in stopping them, but it often took 2 or 3 tackles to do so.

The conditions meant we were unable to use our fast runners to our advantage, and in the end size mattered on this occasion and Saracens were able to force their way over our line from close range 4 times.

Seth Boxall came close to two breakaway tries but each time was denied when the Teignmouth touch judge decided Seth had stepped on the touch line.

Overall it was a brave start to the season, with lots of reasons to be optimistic that we will become more and more competitive as we gain in experience on a full sized pitch.
