Tough Win Against Ivybridge

On an ever changing morning at Broadmeadow, Teignmouth under 14's put in an indifferent performance against a well organised Ivybridge team. The weather went from dark cloudy skies with rain & wind to sunny spells & brilliant sunshine. This was mirrored by the Teign's overall performance with some substandard periods of play followed by some spectacular rugby in both attack and defence. Indeed the final score will show that Teignmouth won convincingly but the reality is that they had to work very hard to get the result. This shows the inner determination they have as a team. To win when you are not playing at your best is the sign of a good team and the young Teign's have shown this today.
There were a number of outstanding performances individually, namely Charlie Doolan for his hat trick of trys but his contribution in defence was fantastic. James Rowe also made some great tackles and looked a class act scoring his own brace of tries from full back. Louix Bustin scored a great try made by a lovely break from Oli Nicks, who made some good runs in the second half. In the forwards, captain Luca Barbot worked his socks off and led from the front. Well done to Finn Addiscott who kicked 5 out of 6 conversions.
There will be plenty to work on this week at training but you should all be pleased with the result. Sometime performance does not go to plan but you found a way to win. Well done and see you at training.

A big 'Thank You' to Bob Staddon (President of Exeter Cheifs) & John Lockyer (Trustee of Exeter Rugby) for coming down and presenting the lads with their new polo shirts.
