and after last weeks result their was a determination to gain revenge for that defeat.

As requested Teignmouth started at a high tempo and from the kick off put pressure on the Kingsbridge line and after a succession of drives Ben Macdonald crashed through the last line of defence to score. Kingsbridge responded immediately driving Teignmouth back but sound defence (if a little stretched at times!!) held them out. The forward battle was even Teignmouth made the most of their lineouts with Webber and Willis linking up well throughout the game and this gave a great release to Kingsbridge pressure. The Kingsbridge back row were spoiling well creating turnovers and slowing Teignmouth ball down and never allowed the home team to rest.

With a strong bench Teignmouth started to make changes rolling players on to maintain momentum, Declan Hammond made an impact when he came on as did Gareth Aldworth when he arrived. Soon after half time Dan Aldworth crashed over from close in with three defenders wrapped round him. This sparked further Kingsbridge pressure and this time they gained a reward scoring wide out.

Sam Banks happily recovered from his injury the previous week was building his tackle count now as the pressure built one particular low level tackle on a substantial opponent stopped a try. Ben MacDonald was also busy both in defence and with the ball in hand until a head injury and yellow card led to his departure. Up front the forwards were now really slugging it out in a hard physical contest. A spell of having the ball in hand and getting some recycling of quick ball ended with Jake Bury bursting tackles on his way to the crucial score which Callum Couch converted to give a 17-5 lead.

Teignmouth were unable to ease off however as Kingsbridge came back with a converted try to bring it back to a score between the two sides. As the game became more open and Kingsbridge more desperate to score Chris Day returned to the fray and Joe Woolnough's and Webbers speed and work rate round the park became essential.

Teignmouth continued to defend well and after a spell of pressure close to and in their own 22 Stefan Walker spotted and took the opportunity of an interception the bad news was he had a 70 metre dash to the far end for the crucial score. Luckily he had just enough puff to make it and Couch converted again to make the game safe.

This was a great result for the whole second team squad who all contributed to a dogged and determined performance the win was a just reward for their effort.
