The U9's continued the fine form that they showed during the 2011/12 season with a convincing one-sided victory in their first contact competitive game. The coaching of Sean Nicks and Mark Cockram has clearly paid dividends with a confident, relentless display of tackling and ball retention by Teignmouth.
Totnes were rarely allowed to get into their stride from the outset with Luca Barbot (Captain), Luke Cockram and Thomas Walters (Man of the Match) in particular braking up any Totnes Rhythm with consistent strong tackling.
The U9's displayed some accurate passing and team work, on what was a larger pitch than they have been used to. This played to the team's strengths with the ball often being released to Jude Baker-Hands and Oliver Nicks who used their pace to full advantage.
Oscar Kennedy and Tristan Green linked up play well finding some clever passes and the try count was improved by some excellent running on the wing from Josh Couch and some powerful running from deep by Jack Parr and Finn addiscott.
