Last season, TRFC took a tentative step into Girls rugby for Under 13's & 15's......with a development plan aiming to expand the club in many different ways, coaches and admins of the club were keen to see if it could take off......
Angelique Aldworth, Manager of the TRFC Women's side said 'With the huge success of the women's side it seemed natural and responsible to offer the sport to younger girls. With a mind to feeding the women side in years to come and with so much talent spotted, we knew that local girls would benefit from learning the values and having a physical outlet for current life and all the pressure that come with it' She continued 'We are mindful that being a teenager today is a minefield and there's no better way to handle it all by being with a group of like minded young women making their way in world who need support and a network of encouraging peers to support them, Rugby can do that in a way that I've never seen in any other sport........I've seen the shyest of women emerge out of their shells through this sport, surprise themselves, delight their families and empower their lives - its hugely rewarding and our very experienced coaches with the assistance of younger coaches taking the same path are trying to give that to young females - we urge parents to consider this sport for their daughters, given time the benefits leak into all areas of their lives'
